 About Lutheran Services

Although the Lutheran Church is among the largest of Protestant bodies, Abiding Savior itself is a small and intimate congregation.  For more than 40 years our church has housed a special community of Christians brought together by God's grace who have committed themselves to growing in Faith and making God's love known through service.

Following the ancient practice of the Christian Church, each Sunday we gather around God's Word of compassion and hope and around the altar celebrating the saving power of Jesus the Christ in Holy Communion.  Our worship includes an exciting blend of traditional and contemporary music which reflects our African American heritage and our commitment to cultural diversity.

God's Word of compassion and promise is proclaimed among us each week in preaching, prayer, and bible study.  Through His grace each Sunday, we come together- singing new and familiar hymns, offering Him praise and thanksgiving, and sharing communion with all who are baptized. We invite you to hear our Lord's declaration of hope, freedom and wholeness.
Come! Worship with us!
